IHSS Rancho Cucamonga: office, phone, pay rate and how to apply

San Bernardino County keeps one of its six In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) offices inside Rancho Cucamonga, at 9445 Fairway View Place, and the IHSS Public Authority runs a district office from the same suite. This page is about using that office: who answers there, how a Rancho Cucamonga family applies, which morning the provider enrollment meeting happens, what the work pays, how to get there by bus and which local services help alongside IHSS. Everything below was checked on county, Public Authority, Omnitrans, city and state pages on October 16, 2026. For the countywide rules, see our IHSS San Bernardino County guide.

The IHSS office in Rancho Cucamonga

IHSS in San Bernardino County belongs to the county's aging department, DAAS-PG, whose office list includes this Rancho Cucamonga location:

ItemRancho Cucamonga office
Address9445 Fairway View Pl., Ste. 110, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730
Phone(909) 948-6200
Public Authority fax(909) 948-6201
Hours8 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays; holidays closed
County senior help desk (SIA) for this area(909) 948-6235

The Public Authority's contact page names Rancho Cucamonga as one of its district office locations, at the same Suite 110 address and phone number, so caregivers and clients deal with one front desk for both agencies. The location map printed on the county's form IHSS 402 marks the building on Fairway View Place just west of Milliken Avenue, between 5th Street and 6th Street.

Which office handles your case. DAAS-PG says a new case is assigned by ZIP code. It does not publish which ZIPs go to which office, so the assignment for a home in 91701, 91730, 91737 or 91739 is confirmed when the county contacts you. You do not need your assigned office to drop off paperwork: the county accepts provider forms, change-of-address forms and employment verification requests at any DAAS-PG or Public Authority office, so a Rancho Cucamonga household can use the Fairway View Place counter for those even if its case is handled elsewhere.

The Public Authority asks people to handle business by phone where they can and to schedule an appointment before coming in person. Its main line is (866) 985-6322.

How to apply for IHSS from Rancho Cucamonga

A Rancho Cucamonga resident has two ways in. You can phone the county's IHSS Central Intake Unit on (877) 800-4544, from 8:00 to 5:00 on any weekday that is not a legal holiday, or you can apply in person at the Fairway View Place office. Either way, keep the care recipient's Social Security number, birth date and full legal name in front of you; DAAS-PG warns that gaps in the application hold it up.

In brief, DAAS-PG's process runs like this: the case goes to a social worker by ZIP code, the worker asks about disabilities, needs and Medi-Cal eligibility, a doctor completes the Health Care Certification (SOC 873), the worker visits the home, and a Notice of Action then approves or denies services. Allow as long as 90 days from start to finish, according to DAAS-PG. Eligibility in the county's words: you are 65 or older, or disabled or blind; you live in California; you are eligible for Medi-Cal; and you need IHSS to stay safely in a home of your choice. The county guide walks through each step and the appeal route.

Already approved and need help finding someone? The county says the Public Authority registry can give IHSS clients a list of potential providers; its line, (866) 985-6322, is staffed during weekday business hours. If your usual provider is unavailable, ask your assigned social worker about the Back-Up Provider System.

Becoming a provider: the Tuesday meeting at Fairway View Place

First-time providers in San Bernardino County, plus anyone returning after more than twelve months without a client, must first attend an in-person enrollment meeting with the provider union. Form IHSS 402 (revised 08/25) gives a weekly schedule for each office, and Rancho Cucamonga's meetings are on Tuesdays, holidays excepted:

SessionWhen it runs
English, 9:00 a.m.Every Tuesday
English, 10:00 a.m.Tuesdays except the 1st and 3rd week of the month
Spanish, 10:00 a.m.Only the 1st and 3rd week of the month

Rules printed on the form:

  • Have a client first. If you do not have an IHSS client yet, the form tells you to stop: the meeting is not needed until you are matched. To be matched, apply to the Public Authority registry online at SBCareJobs.SBCounty.gov.
  • No appointment, limited seats. Pick one session, allow up to an hour, and arrive early. Late arrivals and guests are turned away.
  • One packet per client. At the end you receive an IHSS New Provider BOUNDS packet for each client you have. Take it home, create your BOUNDS account first, then work through the coversheet.
  • Return it to an office, not the meeting. Packets are not accepted at the meeting itself; hand the finished packet in at an IHSS or Public Authority office, and the Rancho Cucamonga suite is one of them.

The BOUNDS steps after the meeting (fingerprints, orientation videos, electronic signatures on SOC 426 and SOC 846, timesheet sign-up) are the same everywhere in the county and are covered in the San Bernardino County IHSS guide and our IHSS provider enrollment explainer.

Keeping a registry listing active. The Public Authority expects registry providers to confirm availability monthly, using its web form (hss.sbcounty.gov/pa_update/) or a paper update handed in locally; a provider who lets that lapse may be dropped from the registry. A work injury can be reported in person at your local Public Authority office or on (866) 985-6322, option 3.

IHSS pay rate for Rancho Cucamonga providers

Which county's rate applies depends on the client's home. For a client at home in Rancho Cucamonga that is San Bernardino County, where the IHSS wage table CDSS currently publishes (tab "IP Effective 10-1-2026", which we opened on October 16, 2026) shows $19.00 an hour, effective January 1, 2026. That is $2.10 above California's $16.90 minimum wage for 2026 (illustrative subtraction).

If your client lives across the county line, in Los Angeles or Riverside County for example, that county's rate applies instead; our IHSS pay by county table lists each one. Overtime, the 66-hour weekly cap for providers with several clients, sick leave and the health plan premium are explained in the county guide.

Getting to the Rancho Cucamonga IHSS office by bus

Omnitrans Route 82 is the bus that runs along Milliken Avenue past the office. Its August 2026 timetable lists a timed stop at Milliken and 6th Street, the corner the county's IHSS 402 map shows beside Fairway View Place. The same route serves the Rancho Cucamonga Metrolink station, Ontario Mills Mall and the Fontana Metrolink Transit Center, ending at Day Creek and Foothill. Omnitrans says Route 82 runs every 60 minutes on weekdays and every 70 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays, so check the timetable before an appointment.

  • Fares. A single ride on an Omnitrans local bus is $2.00, or $0.90 for seniors, veterans and riders with disabilities; a reduced-fare 1-day pass is $2.75.
  • OmniAccess. Riders whose disability keeps them off the fixed-route bus for some or all trips can apply for OmniAccess, Omnitrans's curb-to-curb ADA service. A trip of one to three zones costs $3.75, each extra zone $1.00, and a personal care attendant rides free, which matters if an IHSS provider travels with the client. Application packets can be requested on (800) 966-6428.
  • Uber subsidy. According to the city, Omnitrans pays up to $15 toward each Uber trip taken by a Rancho Cucamonga resident aged 62-plus or living with a disability, subject to a monthly cap; the application is the same Omnitrans Access and mobility programs form.

Private hours alongside IHSS in Rancho Cucamonga

Your Notice of Action fixes both the IHSS tasks and the monthly hours. When a Rancho Cucamonga household needs nights covered, Saturday and Sunday help, or a few hours off for the son or daughter doing the IHSS work, those hours are paid out of pocket. Listing such a job on CaregiverConnect is free, and replies come from Rancho Cucamonga caregivers who apply on their own; you choose one, settle a wage no lower than the legal minimum, and employ them directly in your home. Caregivers are not charged a percentage of their earnings. CaregiverConnect does no screening or background checks itself, and caregivers decide whether to attach a check of their own.
