Finding caregiver jobs in Menifee

Menifee is a city of 117,847 on I-215 whose boundaries take in Sun City, and Sun City is what matters for caregivers. The 92586 ZIP code still carries the Sun City postal name, and in it 40.0% of residents are 65 or older and 64.6% of households include someone over 65 (ACS 2020–2024), figures unlike anywhere else in the southwest county. The rest of Menifee, 92584 and 92585, is young family housing with a 65-plus share around 12%. So the care requests divide: in Sun City a spouse needs respite, overnight supervision or dementia help for a partner; in the newer tracts an adult child needs weekday cover for a parent who moved in. Both show up below, and Google's suggestions for "caregiver jobs Menifee" and "in home care Menifee" confirm the two-sided search.

The platform has only a few local profiles so far, and families here compare applicants from Murrieta, Perris and Hemet. A Menifee or Sun City address on your profile is an advantage in a market built on short, regular visits. Set a radius that takes in Murrieta and Perris, list dementia and overnight availability clearly, and say whether you drive; Menifee Global Medical Center is on McCall Boulevard in Sun City but specialists are spread across the valley.

Types of caregiver jobs in Menifee

Menifee postings are weighted toward senior care: companionship and personal care for a spouse in Sun City, dementia supervision, overnight stays, respite for family caregivers, and recovery help after a stay at Menifee Global Medical Center or a nearby nursing home. Companionship and errands are the entry point for new caregivers; overnight and dementia work go to those with experience.

  • Senior caregiving: day-to-day help so an older adult can stay at home.
  • Personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, transfers.
  • Companion care: company, errands, appointments, light help.
  • Dementia care: routine-based support for memory loss.
  • Respite care: cover so a family caregiver can rest or work.
  • Live-in: room and board as part of the arrangement.
  • Overnight: supervision through the night.
  • Part-time and full-time: set by day and time block on your profile.
Pay

Caregiver pay in Menifee

Public figures first, then what they mean for private work. Statistics describe employed aides across the Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA metro (Riverside County); private rates on CaregiverConnect are agreed between each caregiver and family and are not tracked by any agency.

MeasureHourlySource and coverage
Home health and personal care aides, Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA metro (Riverside County)$16.50 medianBLS OEWS, May 2025; 102,760 jobs; concentration 2.16× national
IHSS provider wage, Riverside County$19.90CDSS; effective May 1, 2026
California minimum wage$16.90effective January 1, 2026

Who is the employer. A family that hires you directly is your employer under California's Domestic Worker Bill of Rights. The state minimum wage ($16.90 an hour from 1 January 2026; some cities set more, for example $17.75 in the City of San Diego) is the legal floor, and a personal attendant earns overtime at 1.5× after 9 hours in a day or 45 in a week. The main exceptions are IHSS recipients and an employer's own parent, spouse or child. Source: California DIR, Domestic Worker Bill of Rights FAQ.

Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario MSA projection: 94,950 aide jobs in 2023 to 126,020 in 2033 (+32.7%), about 191,990 openings over the decade including replacements (California EDD, 2023–2033 projections published April 2026). Openings are not the same as net new jobs.

Metro figures, with no Menifee breakdown and no city minimum wage above the state $16.90. Incomes differ sharply inside the city: the median household in Sun City (92586) earns $57,708 against $113,767 in 92584, so a caregiver pricing for a retired couple on a fixed income and one pricing for a working family in the new tracts are in different markets. IHSS at $19.90 matters more in Sun City, where incomes are lower, and private rates for overnights and dementia care still run above the aide median.

IHSS wages for every county we cover, with effective dates, are in the IHSS pay by county guide.

How the public numbers relate to private rates, and what affects them, is covered in the caregiver pay guide.

Rules

Caregiver requirements in California, applied to Menifee

Menifee applies Riverside County's version of the state rules. Private non-medical care hired directly by a family needs no licence; registration on the Home Care Aide Registry is optional for independents ($35, Live Scan) and compulsory for agency aides. IHSS providers enrol through the county IHSS programme, attending its provider orientation, returning the SOC 426 and SOC 846 forms and clearing a Department of Justice fingerprint check, and are paid $19.90 an hour from 1 May 2026; in a retirement area like Sun City the IHSS route is common. A CDPH CNA certificate is needed at Menifee Global Medical Center and at the skilled nursing facilities, and it is what the Mt. San Jacinto College programme in the city prepares you for. Everyone caring for an older adult is a mandated reporter; the county's 24-hour APS number is (800) 491-7123. More in the requirements guide.

The area

Menifee in numbers

117,847 residents on 1 January 2026, now the largest of the southwest cities by the Department of Finance count. City-wide 17.4% of residents are 65 or older and 37.6% of households include someone 65 or over (ACS 2020–2024), above the county's 15.4%, and that average hides the split between Sun City at 40.0% and the family ZIP codes near 12%. 41.2% of residents are Hispanic or Latino and 22.0% speak Spanish at home, rising to 33.7% in 92585, so bilingual caregivers have an edge on the Perris side of the city. Median rent is $2,110 and the median home is worth $537,300, cheaper than Temecula or Murrieta; 42.9% of workers commute 45 minutes or more.

Sun City's median home value of $381,800 and median household income of $57,708 describe retirees on fixed incomes who nevertheless need daily help, which is why IHSS and part-time private care coexist here. Neighbouring markets with their own pages are Murrieta to the south, Perris to the north and Hemet to the east.

Questions

Caregiver jobs in Menifee: frequently asked questions

Is Sun City part of Menifee?

Yes. Sun City is a community inside the City of Menifee; ZIP codes 92585 and 92586 keep the Sun City postal name. Postings from Sun City families appear on this page with their distance from the city centre.

Why is Menifee good for senior-care work?

Because of its age profile: 17.4% of the city and 40.0% of Sun City are 65 or older, far above the county. That produces regular part-time requests, respite and overnight work rather than one-off jobs.

How do I get CNA training in Menifee?

Apply to Mt. San Jacinto College’s one-semester programme at the Menifee Valley Campus during the May or October application window; there are 30 places a term, and you need an MSJC student ID, a Live Scan and a CPR card.

What are the pay reference points?

$16.50 employed median for the metro, $19.90 IHSS in Riverside County, $16.90 state minimum. Sun City households have lower incomes than the rest of the city, so IHSS cases are common there and private rates vary by neighbourhood.

Do Sun City families want overnight care?

Often, for a spouse with dementia or after a hospital stay. Mark overnight availability on your profile; California overtime rules for personal attendants apply after nine hours in a day.

Where do Menifee families post?

On the Menifee families page, which also shows anonymised caregiver cards for the area.
