Finding in-home caregiver jobs in Homeland
As an unincorporated census-designated place, Homeland has no council and no city hall: its bus line belongs to the Riverside Transit Agency, its local park (Country View Park on Mattero Trail Court) to the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District, and its social services to Riverside County. For a community of 7,584 people (ACS 2020–2024, margin of error 1,776), Homeland skews older than Riverside County overall: 1,376 residents, or 18.1%, are 65 or older, against 15.4% across the county. More striking, 968 of Homeland's 2,318 households, which is 41.8%, include someone 65 or over, well above the county's 34.9%.
Many of those older residents are on their own. ACS counts 454 households that are a single person aged 65 or more living alone, about one home in five. Half of residents 65 and older (50.9%) report a disability, and 18.2% of them live below the poverty line, both far above the county rates of 35.4% and 10.8%. That mix points to steady, practical work: regular visits for meals, medication reminders, bathing and errands for someone who lives alone, often arranged by an adult child who lives elsewhere. Say in your profile how many visits a week you can cover and whether you drive.

Likely requests include check-in visits several days a week for a widowed parent, help getting ready in the morning, rides to Menifee Global Medical Center or Hemet for appointments, overnight cover after a hospital discharge, and IHSS hours for someone already authorized by the county. Companionship and light housekeeping are reasonable first jobs; transfers and dementia care go to applicants who can describe doing them.

Caregiver pay in Homeland: how much caregivers make
Public figures first, then what they mean for private work. Statistics describe employed aides across the Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA metro (Riverside and San Bernardino counties); private rates on CaregiverConnect are agreed between each caregiver and family and are not tracked by any agency.
| Measure | Hourly | Source and coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Home health and personal care aides, Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA metro (Riverside and San Bernardino counties) | $16.50 median ($17.03 mean) | BLS OEWS, May 2025; 102,760 jobs; concentration 2.16× national |
| IHSS provider wage, Riverside County | $19.90 | CDSS; effective May 1, 2026 |
| California minimum wage | $16.90 | effective January 1, 2026 |
Who is the employer. A family that hires you directly is your employer under California's Domestic Worker Bill of Rights. The state minimum wage ($16.90 an hour from 1 January 2026; some cities set more, for example $17.75 in the City of San Diego) is the legal floor, and a personal attendant earns overtime at 1.5× after 9 hours in a day or 45 in a week. The main exceptions are IHSS recipients and an employer's own parent, spouse or child. Source: California DIR, Domestic Worker Bill of Rights FAQ.
Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario MSA (Riverside and San Bernardino counties) projection: 94,950 aide jobs in 2023 to 126,020 in 2033 (+32.7%), about 191,990 openings over the decade including replacements (California EDD, 2023–2033 projections published April 2026). Openings are not the same as net new jobs.
About 6.2% of Homeland's labor force was unemployed, on average, between August 2025 and August 2026, according to EDD estimates. Riverside County averaged 5.5% over the same months and California 5.3%. EDD estimates small unincorporated places such as Homeland from county totals, so treat the figure as approximate; the monthly numbers ranged from 5.3% to 7.1% in a labor force of about 2,867. With so many older neighbors, care work is one of the few jobs that can be close to home, and Riverside County IHSS pays $19.90 an hour, which is $3.00 above the state minimum.
ACS puts Homeland's median household income at $60,404, about two-thirds of the county's $93,074, so private families will negotiate. The Labor Center's July 2026 table lists no city or county minimum wage in Riverside County, which leaves $16.90 as the legal floor here. Overtime rules for personal attendants begin after nine hours in a day or 45 in a week, at one and a half times the hourly rate.
How to enroll as a provider in Riverside County, with the office phone lines and orientation steps, is in the IHSS Riverside County guide. IHSS wages for every county we cover, with effective dates, are in the IHSS pay by county guide.
How the public numbers relate to private rates, and what affects them, is covered in the caregiver pay guide.
Caregiver requirements in California, applied to Homeland
State law, not county law, sets the rules here. A Homeland family can hire you for companionship, cooking or personal care without any license on your side, and you only have to join the Home Care Aide Registry if you take a job with a licensed agency. In the state's May 2025 licensing data, 92548 has no home care agency at all. Its facility employers are A Haveli Care, a six-bed elderly care home on Belle Grove Circle, and two small adult residential homes. To become an IHSS provider, phone IHSS HOME on (888) 960-4477. The Attorney General lists no Live Scan site in Homeland; there are several in Hemet and Menifee. Facility jobs and nursing tasks call for a CDPH certificate as a CNA or home health aide, and paid elder caregivers are mandated reporters. See the requirements guide.

Homeland in numbers
ACS 2020–2024 counts 66.7% of Homeland residents as Hispanic or Latino, and 51.1% of those aged five and up speak Spanish at home, though only 14.2% speak English less than very well, so bilingual skills help without being essential. Owners occupy 74.5% of homes, with a median value of $238,200 and a median gross rent of $1,635. Workers face a long trip: the mean commute is 39.7 minutes, against 33.8 county-wide, and 79.1% drive alone. Education, health care and social assistance employ 29.7% of working residents, a larger share than the county's 21.2%, so plenty of neighbors already work in schools, clinics or care.
Neither CDPH's facility file nor HRSA's health center list shows any site with a 92548 address, so clients are seen elsewhere. Routed on OpenStreetMap roads (OSRM) from the Census center of Homeland, Menifee Global Medical Center on McCall Boulevard is a drive of about 5 miles and 8 minutes; Hemet Global Medical Center, on Devonshire Avenue, is about 9.5 miles. The Riverside County page covers county programs; nearby, see Menifee, Hemet and Perris.
