Finding caregiver jobs in Riverside County
Riverside County stretches from the Orange County line to the Colorado River, so "caregiver jobs in Riverside County" means very different things in Temecula, in the city of Riverside and in Palm Springs. CaregiverConnect works by ZIP code and travel radius everywhere in the county, but the detailed city pages we have written so far cover the southwest corner: Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Wildomar, Lake Elsinore, Hemet, San Jacinto and Perris. The postings below are gathered from across that part of the county; if you live in Riverside, Corona, Moreno Valley, the Coachella Valley or Blythe, set your own ZIP code and the same search works, it simply has no local page yet.
Be straightforward about the state of the marketplace here: most CaregiverConnect caregivers and families today are in San Diego County, and the southwest Riverside postings often draw applicants who live in Fallbrook or Escondido and drive up I-15. A caregiver who already lives in the county has a real advantage, because families ask first how long the morning drive will be. Put your city and the radius you will actually cover on your profile, list dementia, transfer and hospital-discharge experience if you have it, and say whether you drive, since most appointments in the county mean a car journey.

Caregiver pay in Riverside County
Public figures first, then what they mean for private work. Statistics describe employed aides across the Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA metro (Riverside and San Bernardino counties); private rates on CaregiverConnect are agreed between each caregiver and family and are not tracked by any agency.
| Measure | Hourly | Source and coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Home health and personal care aides, Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA metro (Riverside and San Bernardino counties) | $16.50 median | BLS OEWS, May 2025; 102,760 jobs; concentration 2.16× national |
| IHSS provider wage, Riverside County | $19.90 | CDSS; effective May 1, 2026 |
| California minimum wage | $16.90 | effective January 1, 2026 |
Who is the employer. A family that hires you directly is your employer under California's Domestic Worker Bill of Rights. The state minimum wage ($16.90 an hour from 1 January 2026; some cities set more, for example $17.75 in the City of San Diego) is the legal floor, and a personal attendant earns overtime at 1.5× after 9 hours in a day or 45 in a week. The main exceptions are IHSS recipients and an employer's own parent, spouse or child. Source: California DIR, Domestic Worker Bill of Rights FAQ.
Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario MSA (Riverside and San Bernardino counties) projection: 94,950 aide jobs in 2023 to 126,020 in 2033 (+32.7%), about 191,990 openings over the decade including replacements (California EDD, 2023–2033 projections published April 2026). Openings are not the same as net new jobs.
The Inland Empire employs 102,760 home health and personal care aides, more than twice the national concentration for a metro of its size (location quotient 2.16), yet the employed median is the state floor of $16.50. The IHSS wage of $19.90, in force since 1 May 2026, is therefore the figure most Riverside County caregivers use when they judge a private offer. EDD expects aide employment in the two-county metro to grow by 32.7% between 2023 and 2033, against 9.8% for all occupations, with 191,990 openings once exits and transfers are counted; its workbook lists a $22.22 median for nursing assistants. No city in the county has its own minimum wage, so the state rate applies in every town on this page.
IHSS wages for every county we cover, with effective dates, are in the IHSS pay by county guide.
How the public numbers relate to private rates, and what affects them, is covered in the caregiver pay guide.
Caregiver requirements in California, applied to Riverside County
Riverside County follows the three Californian systems. A caregiver hired directly by a family for non-medical help needs no licence and may register on the state Home Care Aide Registry voluntarily ($35, Live Scan); an aide employed by a licensed Home Care Organization must be on that registry with a CDSS background check. IHSS providers enrol through the county IHSS office and its Public Authority: attend the county's provider orientation, return the enrolment form (SOC 426) and provider agreement (SOC 846), and clear a Department of Justice fingerprint check; the county pays $19.90 an hour from 1 May 2026. CNA and home health aide certificates come from CDPH and are required for facility and nursing work. Everyone who cares for an elder is a mandated reporter; the county's 24-hour Adult Protective Services line is (800) 491-7123. The requirements guide explains the detail.

Riverside County in numbers
The Department of Finance counted 2,506,824 residents on 1 January 2026, the fourth-largest county in California. 15.4% are 65 or older and 34.9% of households include someone 65 or over (ACS 2020–2024). The county is 51.3% Hispanic or Latino and 35.0% of residents speak Spanish at home, higher than the state's 28.3%, so bilingual caregivers find work easily in Perris, Hemet and the Coachella Valley; the southwest cities are less Spanish-speaking than the county average. The median home is worth $557,300 and median rent is $1,901, cheaper than the coast, which is why so many residents commute: 32.0% of workers travel 45 minutes or more to work, against 23.6% statewide, and a county study of 2018 Census commuting data found only 47.6% of employed residents working inside the county, with 12.9% in Los Angeles County, 12.6% in Orange County and 7.0% in San Diego County.
For a caregiver that commuting pattern is the opportunity: households where both adults leave early post weekday care for a parent and value a caregiver who lives nearby. The Temecula, Murrieta and Menifee pages carry the city-level figures, and the San Diego County page covers the market many southwest caregivers also serve.
