Finding in-home caregiver jobs in Yucca Valley
Residential care is the biggest source of aide jobs in Yucca Valley. CDSS's May 2025 licensing file lists seven residential care facilities for the elderly in town with 180 licensed places between them. Jasmin Terrace at Yucca Valley on Santa Fe Trail is the largest, licensed for 85; three Aaspen Village Care homes on Antelope Trail and Kickapoo Trail add 53; Angelic Mansions on Warren Vista Avenue and Ingleside Lodge on Mt. View Trail take 15 each, and High Desert Residential Care on Joshua Lane takes 12.
Skilled nursing is the other large employer. CDPH's October 16, 2026 list shows Indian Canyon Post Acute on Joshua Lane with 99 beds and Joshua Tree Post Acute on Cholla Avenue with 58, plus Archangel Hospice in a Twentynine Palms Highway office suite. CDPH lists no general acute care hospital and no home health agency with a Yucca Valley address, and CDSS shows no licensed home care organization based in the town, so most in-home work here is private. ACS 2020–2024 records 1,744 town households made up of a single resident aged 65-plus. Say in your profile whether you drive, which shifts suit you and what facility experience you have, then watch for 92284 postings above.

Types of caregiver jobs in Yucca Valley
Families in Yucca Valley tend to post companionship and meal help for a parent living alone; rides to the Desert Willow Center for Seniors lunch or to appointments; help with bathing and dressing after a stay at one of the post-acute centers; and someone awake through the night for a parent with dementia. Without experience, companionship and errands are the way in; a Copper Mountain College CNA certificate can follow.

Caregiver pay in Yucca Valley: how much caregivers make
Public figures first, then what they mean for private work. Statistics describe employed aides across the Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA metro (Riverside and San Bernardino counties); private rates on CaregiverConnect are agreed between each caregiver and family and are not tracked by any agency.
| Measure | Hourly | Source and coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Home health and personal care aides, Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA metro (Riverside and San Bernardino counties) | $16.50 median ($17.03 mean) | BLS OEWS, May 2025; 102,760 jobs; concentration 2.16× national |
| IHSS provider wage, San Bernardino County | $19.00 | CDSS; effective January 1, 2026 |
| California minimum wage | $16.90 | effective January 1, 2026 |
| Nursing assistants, Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA metro (Riverside and San Bernardino counties) | $22.32 median | BLS OEWS, May 2025 (certified roles, for comparison) |
Who is the employer. A family that hires you directly is your employer under California's Domestic Worker Bill of Rights. The state minimum wage ($16.90 an hour from 1 January 2026; some cities set more, for example $17.75 in the City of San Diego) is the legal floor, and a personal attendant earns overtime at 1.5× after 9 hours in a day or 45 in a week. The main exceptions are IHSS recipients and an employer's own parent, spouse or child. Source: California DIR, Domestic Worker Bill of Rights FAQ.
About 4.9% of Yucca Valley's labor force was unemployed, on average, between August 2025 and August 2026, according to EDD estimates. Countywide and statewide the mean was 5.3%, a few tenths above the town. The labor force averaged about 9,630 people, and the monthly rate stayed between 4.2% and 5.6%. In ACS 2020–2024 the town's median household income is $59,563, and half of renters pay more than $1,428 a month.
What a caregiver earns here depends on who pays. IHSS providers whose clients live in Yucca Valley receive $19.00 an hour, the county figure in force from the first of January 2026; read the San Bernardino County IHSS guide before you enroll. A client across the county line in Desert Hot Springs is paid at Riverside County's $19.90, since the client's county sets the rate. The Labor Center's July 2026 table has no Yucca Valley or San Bernardino County ordinance, so a family employer owes at least California's $16.90. The BLS metro median for nursing assistants, $22.32, shows what certification can add. Should a Yucca Valley household keep you on duty as a personal attendant into a tenth hour on one shift, or a 46th hour in one week, those extra hours carry the overtime premium of the Domestic Worker Bill of Rights.
How to enroll as a provider in San Bernardino County, with the office phone lines and orientation steps, is in the IHSS San Bernardino County guide. IHSS wages for every county we cover, with effective dates, are in the IHSS pay by county guide.
How the public numbers relate to private rates, and what affects them, is covered in the caregiver pay guide.
Caregiver requirements in California, applied to Yucca Valley
The Town of Yucca Valley does not license caregivers. Private non-medical work paid by a family requires no state credential. Agency work does: a licensed home care organization cannot assign you to clients until CDSS has added you to its Home Care Aide registry, which costs $35. CNA posts at either post-acute center, and hospice aide work, require CDPH certification. IHSS providers enroll with San Bernardino County, and the county's DAAS has a Yucca Valley branch office; the county page covers the rest of the process. The Attorney General lists two Live Scan businesses in town, The UPS Store #6968 and Hi Desert Federal Live Scan, both on Twentynine Palms Highway. Paid caregivers must report suspected elder abuse under state law; the requirements guide has the rules.

Yucca Valley in numbers
California's Department of Finance estimated Yucca Valley's population at 21,798 on January 1, 2026. Older adults are a large share: ACS 2020–2024 finds 4,557 residents (20.9%) aged 65 or more and 628 (2.9%) aged 85 or more, a median age of 39.1, and 3,293 of the town's 9,038 households (36.4%) with at least one person 65-plus. Among residents 65 and over, 41.9% report a disability and 16.0% live on incomes below the poverty level. Only 239 residents live in group quarters (ACS), so institutions do not skew these figures.
About one resident in seven (15.1%, age five and up) uses a non-English language in the household; for 11.6% that language is Spanish. The average commute is 28.3 minutes; 74.9% of workers drive alone and 1.4% ride transit, so most private jobs will expect you to have a car.
