Finding in-home caregiver jobs in Chino
Chino is a single-ZIP city on this site, 91710, so a family posting from Chino reaches every caregiver whose radius covers that code. Private caregiver jobs here are arranged between you and the family: they describe the hours, the duties and the person who needs help, and you apply, message and meet them. The postings above update as families publish them. Set your travel radius honestly; a family would rather hear from someone who can arrive on time every morning than from someone who will struggle with the drive.
Language is often the deciding detail in Chino. In the ACS 2020–2024 estimates 46.5% of residents over four speak a language other than English at home, 30.5% speak Spanish and 7.7% speak a Chinese language, and 17.1% speak English less than "very well". If you speak Spanish, Mandarin or Cantonese, put it in the first line of your profile. Then list the tasks you are comfortable with (bathing, transfers, meals, medication reminders), whether you drive, and the hours you can reliably keep.

Types of caregiver jobs in Chino
Chino families tend to post weekday mornings or afternoons for a parent who lives with them, help for a few weeks after a stay at Chino Valley Medical Center, companionship for a widowed parent, and rides to appointments and the senior center. Companion and errand jobs are the easiest place to start without experience; transfers and dementia care usually need a track record.

Caregiver pay in Chino: how much caregivers make
Public figures first, then what they mean for private work. Statistics describe employed aides across the Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA metro (San Bernardino County); private rates on CaregiverConnect are agreed between each caregiver and family and are not tracked by any agency.
| Measure | Hourly | Source and coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Home health and personal care aides, Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario, CA metro (San Bernardino County) | $16.50 median | BLS OEWS, May 2025; 102,760 jobs; concentration 2.16× national |
| IHSS provider wage, San Bernardino County | $19.00 | CDSS; effective January 1, 2026 |
| California minimum wage | $16.90 | effective January 1, 2026 |
Who is the employer. A family that hires you directly is your employer under California's Domestic Worker Bill of Rights. The state minimum wage ($16.90 an hour from 1 January 2026; some cities set more, for example $17.75 in the City of San Diego) is the legal floor, and a personal attendant earns overtime at 1.5× after 9 hours in a day or 45 in a week. The main exceptions are IHSS recipients and an employer's own parent, spouse or child. Source: California DIR, Domestic Worker Bill of Rights FAQ.
Chino does not have a city minimum wage of its own (the UC Berkeley Labor Center’s inventory of local ordinances does not list it), so the state $16.90 is the floor. The $16.50 median is for home health and personal care aides across the two-county Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario metro, which includes many agency and facility jobs. For private in-home caregiver jobs in Chino, the San Bernardino County IHSS rate of $19.00 an hour since January 1, 2026 is the most useful benchmark. With a median household income of $104,682 and median gross rent of $2,336 a month (ACS 2020–2024), quoting above the IHSS rate for nights, weekends or personal care is reasonable; put your rate in writing along with overtime, which California owes personal attendants after 9 hours a day or 45 a week.
How to enroll as a provider in San Bernardino County, with the office phone lines and orientation steps, is in the IHSS San Bernardino County guide. IHSS wages for every county we cover, with effective dates, are in the IHSS pay by county guide.
How the public numbers relate to private rates, and what affects them, is covered in the caregiver pay guide.
Caregiver requirements in California, applied to Chino
IHSS in Chino is run by San Bernardino County’s Department of Aging and Adult Services, and providers who want referrals join the IHSS Public Authority registry. The registry asks you to enroll through the state BOUNDS portal, pass a Department of Justice background check, read the provider handbook and keep a current CPR and first-aid card where classes are offered; after that the Public Authority mails your name to clients who ask for a provider. Note that the IHSS client, not the county, is your employer and decides whether to hire you. The Public Authority’s Rancho Cucamonga district office is at 9445 Fairway View Place, Suite 110, Rancho Cucamonga, (909) 948-6200. A family that hires you privately for non-medical help does not need any of these steps, and the state Home Care Aide Registry is voluntary for independents. CNA certification is required only for nursing work. The pages on California caregiver rules and IHSS in San Bernardino County have the full detail.
