Finding in-home caregiver jobs in Arcadia

Few cities this size hold as many care employers on paper. CDPH's facility file of October 16, 2026 lists 26 active home health agency sites with Arcadia addresses (one is a branch office) and 11 hospices. They cluster: a single building at 333 N. Santa Anita Avenue houses seven of those agencies and hospices, and four more home health agencies share 324 E. Foothill Boulevard. Other suites line Huntington Drive, Duarte Road and Live Oak Avenue. Walking a résumé between offices on one block is realistic here, and agency work builds the references private clients ask about.

For private jobs, language decides a lot. In ACS 2020–2024, 47.0% of Arcadia residents aged five or older speak an Asian or Pacific Islander language at home, and 23.4% speak one while rating their English below "very well". In the census race tables, 42.4% of residents identify as Chinese alone, the largest single group. If you speak Mandarin, Cantonese or another language, put it in the first line of your profile. Spanish is the home language for 9.3%. Postings from Arcadia families land above when they are published, and a wider radius adds nearby cities.

Types of caregiver jobs in Arcadia

Typical Arcadia requests: a few hours after a discharge from USC Arcadia Hospital, company and meals between home health visits, escorts to dialysis on Huntington Drive or Foothill Boulevard, getting a parent to the noon lunch at the Arcadia Community Center, or overnight help for someone who has stopped driving. If you have no paid experience yet, companionship, errands and meal preparation are honest starting points, and the city's free senior bus fare makes errands with a client cheap.

Pay

Caregiver pay in Arcadia: how much caregivers make

Public figures first, then what they mean for private work. Statistics describe employed aides across the Los Angeles–Long Beach–Anaheim MSA (Los Angeles and Orange counties); private rates on CaregiverConnect are agreed between each caregiver and family and are not tracked by any agency.

Who is the employer. A family that hires you directly is your employer under California's Domestic Worker Bill of Rights. The state minimum wage ($16.90 an hour from 1 January 2026; some cities set more, for example $17.75 in the City of San Diego) is the legal floor, and a personal attendant earns overtime at 1.5× after 9 hours in a day or 45 in a week. The main exceptions are IHSS recipients and an employer's own parent, spouse or child. Source: California DIR, Domestic Worker Bill of Rights FAQ.

About 4.9% of Arcadia's labor force was unemployed, on average, between August 2025 and August 2026, according to EDD estimates. That is below both Los Angeles County's 5.4% and California's 5.3% for the same months, in a labor force of about 25,800. The local question is pay rather than hardship: IHSS pays $19.64 an hour for each hour the county authorizes for a Los Angeles County client, and the Los Angeles County IHSS guide walks through provider enrollment.

Arcadia does not appear in UC Berkeley's inventory of local minimum wage ordinances, so the state's $16.90 is the floor for private work done inside the city. Two neighbors differ: work in unincorporated county areas falls under the county's $18.47 from July 1, 2026, and the inventory lists Pasadena at $18.57 from the same date. What counts is where the work is done, not where you live. DIR notes a separate, higher minimum for certain health care workers, which may matter at a hospital or nursing home. Personal attendants hired directly by a household earn overtime after nine hours in a day or 45 in a week. The ACS median household income is $113,516.

How to enroll as a provider in Los Angeles County, with the office phone lines and orientation steps, is in the IHSS Los Angeles County guide. IHSS wages for every county we cover, with effective dates, are in the IHSS pay by county guide.

How the public numbers relate to private rates, and what affects them, is covered in the caregiver pay guide.

Rules

Caregiver requirements in California, applied to Arcadia

Arcadia adds no caregiver rules of its own; the state's apply. A family that hires you directly for non-medical care needs no license from you. To work through a home care organization, such as the six Arcadia agencies licensed in CDSS's May 2025 file, you must be listed on the Home Care Aide Registry first. USC Arcadia Hospital, Arcadia Care Center and Huntington Drive Health and Rehabilitation Center hire nursing assistants with CDPH certification, and home health aide roles at the CDPH-licensed agencies need the HHA certificate. IHSS providers enroll with DPSS, attend orientation and clear a fingerprint check. Anyone paid to care for an older adult must report suspected abuse. The Los Angeles County page and the requirements guide explain each step.

Questions

Caregiver jobs in Arcadia: frequently asked questions

How many home health agencies are in Arcadia?

CDPH's October 16, 2026 file lists 26 active home health agency sites with Arcadia addresses, one of them a branch, plus 11 hospices. Seven share one building on N. Santa Anita Avenue, so a single afternoon can cover several applications.

Which Arcadia agencies place non-medical caregivers?

In CDSS's May 2025 file, licensed home care organizations with Arcadia addresses include Benchmark Home Care Services, First Light Home Care Pasadena, Krista Care, Rejoice Care Partner, Senior Helpers and Trinity Hills Home Care. Each can place you only after you are on the Home Care Aide Registry.

What does IHSS pay for a client who lives in Arcadia?

$19.64 for each authorized hour, the Los Angeles County provider wage since January 1, 2026. The rate follows the county where the client lives, so a client in Arcadia and one in Monrovia bring the same rate.

Does Arcadia have its own minimum wage?

No. UC Berkeley's inventory lists no Arcadia ordinance, so private work inside the city starts at California's $16.90. The county's $18.47 covers unincorporated areas and Pasadena's $18.57 covers work done in Pasadena.

Can I get around Arcadia without a car?

Arcadia Transit runs three fixed routes for $0.50 a ride, free from age 62, and the Green Line stops at the Metro rail station and USC Arcadia Hospital. A client who is 62 or older, or disabled, can also register for the city's Dial-A-Ride.

Do Arcadia families ask for caregivers who speak Chinese?

The census figures suggest many will: 47.0% of residents aged five and older speak an Asian or Pacific Islander language at home. List each language you speak and how well, so a family can match it to a parent.

How do Arcadia families reach me?

Families post on the Arcadia family page, and those requests appear here. Your profile is free, and CaregiverConnect takes no commission from what a family pays you.
